NuggetBuy.com is pleased to bring to you the RealFyre Gas Logs from the RH Peterson Co.
Enjoy the Handcrafted Warmth of the RealFyre Gas Logs by the RH Peterson Company with either Natural Gas or Liquid Propane (LP), Vented or Vent Free.
All RealFyre Gas Logs are detailed with high definition bark and natural colors for authentic wood realism. RealFyre Gas Logs are made of superior refractory ceramics, expanded shales and aggregates, and use an advanced calcium aluminate binder. This combination of materials, pre-fired in a rotary kiln, provides:
- Greater Compressive Strength
-
Allowing finer detailing in the log-making process without breaking or chipping, and
producing a longer-lasting log.
- Higher Bulk Density
- Better Rheology (Flow Rate)
-
Meaning a better texture to the logs, fewer “bugholes,” better strength, and less water in the
mix, for better consistency of product.
- Higher Refractoriness
-
RealFyre refractory material has a Pyrometric Cone Equivalent of 2650 degrees (F), higher
than any other log, and higher PCE means better ability to withstand heat over time. That means RealFyre logs won’t break down.
- Lower Iron Content
- Steel Reinforcing Rods
-
Assuring the integrity of RealFyre Gas Logs, precisely sized and designed steel rods are
inserted into each log. This provides maximum reinforcement and prevents breakage.
RealFyre Gas Log Systems are accepted by national and local building codes and authorities, and are available with one or more of the following listings or certifications:
- CSA, RADCO, OMNI, ICC, Proud members of Hearth, Patio and Barbecue Association (HPBA), Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association (GAMA), National Propane Gas Association (NPGA), and National Fireplace Institute, (NFI) Advocate.
What is a Vented Gas Log?
- Vented Gas Logs are the most realistic wood fire substitute made, and are available in different styles and finishes resembling oak, birch, hickory, and many other wood species.
- Vented Gas Logs look good with their "yellow" flame, simulating the wood very well.
- For use in Fireplaces with the damper open.
- Works with Natural Gas or Liquid Propane (LP) Gas.
- Vented Logs are capable of consuming large amounts of gas (high BTUs).
- The Vented Log sets are also flexible: logs can be moved around and repositioned, remote controls and wall switches are available, and additional logs, embers, branches and pine cones can be added.
- The heating efficiency is rather low , meaning that only 10% of this heat is returned to the home. The rest goes up the chimney, much like your old wood fire did.
- If you are looking for the most realistic fire, and don't have a heating problem in the room or in your home, then the Vented Gas Logs may be a good option for you.
- Vented Gas Logs do not require a Carbon Monoxide (CO) detector because with the damper open, most of the gas smell will go up the chimney.
What is a Vent Free Gas Log?
- Vent Free Gas Logs do have "yellow" flames and glowing embers, and also have beautiful log styles.
- Vent Free Gas Logs allow much better heat output than Vented Gas Logs because the Chimney damper is closed.
- For use in Fireplaces with the damper closed.
- Works with Natural Gas or Liquid Propane (LP) Gas.
- Vent Free Gas Logs use slightly less gas consumption (lower BTUs).
- Vent Free Gas Logs introduce excess moisture into your home which can result in mold or mildew.
- The Vent Free Gas Logs do not allow for the repositioning or adding of additional logs or branches.
- The heating efficiency is higher than the Vented Gas Logs because the damper is closed. Remember to protect all items surrounding the fireplace due to the increased heat out-put.
- Vent Free Gas Logs are required to have a Carbon Monoxide (CO) detector.
- All precautions need to be taken because the flame is an "open fire."
- You must be careful to not burn your Vent Free Gas Logs for extended periods of time with the windows closed, otherwise they will deplete the oxygen in your home.
- Vent Free Gas Logs are not permitted in bedrooms, bathrooms, or recreational vehicles, and must be installed in an area where curtains, furniture, clothing or other flammable objects are at least 36 inches away from the perimeter of the heat source.
- Vent Free Gas Logs do produce an odor similar to burning kerosene. Sensitive noses might not be able to handle the smell, and might be dissatisfied with Vent Free Gas Logs.
Installing your Gas Logs:
- It is highly recommended that your new fireplace logs be installed by a qualified plumber or heating contractor.
- This is not the right job for a DIY's. Most jobs are installed with threaded pipe, which must be cut and threaded on the job. In addition, technical knowledge and certain instruments are required to set up and adjust the gas logs.
- Have a Chimney Sweep check your chimney and fireplace prior to installation.
- Before installing any gas log system, check your local and state codes. Remember Safety First!
